Our Minister
In 2026, Springvale South Church of Christ gratefully and prayerfully appointed Pastor Tola Ten as the Minister of the church. This appointment marks a new chapter in the life of our congregation, as we continue to seek God’s direction in fulfilling His mission in Springvale South and beyond. Pastor Tola brings with him a deep love for God’s Word, a heart for discipleship, and a lifelong passion for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with people from all walks of life.
Pastor Tola, together with his wife Sopheap Chhay, has faithfully served the church community in Springvale South for many years. His journey in ministry began over two decades ago, serving in local church life through New Life Ministry, where he developed a strong foundation in evangelism, discipleship, and pastoral care. In 2012, he joined Springvale South Church of Christ, serving the congregation faithfully for eight years in various ministry roles, nurturing a heart for the local church and a vision for reaching the multicultural community of Greater Dandenong.
In October 2020, responding to God’s calling to reach the Cambodian community, Pastor Tola and Sopheap founded Abundant Life Church of Christ in Springvale. This church was established as a Cambodian Christian community, proclaiming the Gospel, raising disciples, and creating a spiritual home for many who had not previously encountered Christ. Under God’s grace, this ministry has grown to impact families across Greater Dandenong and beyond.
Pastor Tola holds a Bachelor of Theology from the University of Divinity, with Stirling Theological College as his main campus for theological studies. His theological training is complemented by a strong commitment to practical ministry, biblical preaching, and equipping believers to live out their faith in everyday life. Born with a rare neurological condition known as Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Pastor Tola has lived with physical limitations since birth. Yet, his life stands as a powerful testimony to God’s strength in human weakness. Rather than hindering his calling, God has used his journey to inspire faith, perseverance, and trust in the Lord. Through every challenge, Pastor Tola continues to proclaim that God’s grace is sufficient and that nothing can stop the purposes of God.
Sopheap plays a vital role in the ministry alongside Pastor Tola. She leads the worship ministry and the Cambodian ladies’ life group, nurturing spiritual growth, prayer, and fellowship among women in the church. Together, they are blessed with four children — Ryan, Rachel, Rebecca, and Reuben — who also joyfully serve in the worship ministry and children’s ministry. As a family, they are united in serving God’s house and modelling a Christ-centred life.
As Minister of Springvale South Church of Christ, Pastor Tola’s vision is to see a vibrant, Spirit-led, Bible-based, and multicultural church that faithfully proclaims the Gospel, makes disciples, and serves the local community with love and compassion. With a heart for evangelism, discipleship, and unity in the body of Christ, he is committed to leading the church into a new season of growth, spiritual renewal, and Kingdom impact.
